Our Story

Ryan and Tina North are actors by trade, met performing in the long running "Tony 'n Tina's Wedding" and have been seen in numerous local productions, in commercials and films, and heard on the radio. 

Tina cares deeply for the Earth,  its inhabitants, and our co-existant future.  Ryan listens to his wife because he thinks she's smart and good looking - okay, he cares too. 

Together, in September of 2006, Tina and Ryan opened "Re Gifts," the Twin Cities premier green gift shop to rave reviews.  Positive customer and media response (including being voted the best gift shop in the Twin Cities by the City Pages) indicated that the North's were onto something.  It was clear that "Re Gifts" was providing a niche retail experience that responded to the call for greener options.

"So why stop with gifts?" Ryan and Tina asked themselves... and forged on to create Twin Cities Green... a synergistic coming together of eco-friendly products, services, knowledge, and people.

WHAT MAKES US SO SPECIAL YOU ASK?

It's not just our products that are green... we're not just jumping on the green bandwagon.  When we say we're green, we mean it!  And here's a few reasons how:

1. Low interior VOC Paint
2. Recycled tire rubber floor w/a low VOC adhesive
3. Second hand computers purchased at Computer Renaissance.
4. Select second hand lighting fixtures
5. Bike rack out front to encourage alternative transportation. 
6. Paper used in shop = 100% recycled content
7. Go into other home stores and see how many things are created in China... do the same with our shop.  See any difference?
8. Business cards, store tags, and press releases created on our friends and neighbors cardboard cereal, pasta, and food boxes.
9. Check out counter = used cabinets and doors from the ReUse Center.
10. Billboard adorned with shutters and doors from the ReUse Center and a local grade school.
11. Compact flourescent lightbulbs and LED bulbs!  Cool!
12. We use recycled toilet paper and garbage bags.

14. All of our cardboard boxes are either reused by us for various projects around the shop, to ship out orders, or recycled.

IMPORTANT STORE POLICIES

RETURN/EXCHANGE POLICIES

• Twin Cities Green will accept your return if you have the original store receipt (not credit card receipt), it is dated within two weeks of the return date, and the product is in the same condition as it was when purchased - no exceptions.
• We will not accept return items that have been laundered, altered, or damaged.
• If you have the original store receipt and are outside of the two weeks and the item is in satisfactory condition (according to the clerks opinion), you may exchange the item or have store credit.
• A 5% fee will apply to returns over $100.
• Special ordered, custom ordered, and sale items may not be returned.  No exceptions.
• We do not offer retrograde returns: example - if you buy something on Monday and it goes on sale Tuesday, you may not return it to repurchase it at the reduced price.  Sorry.

COUPON AND DISCOUNT POLICY

• Unless otherwise specified, Twin Cities Green does not combine multiple discounts, coupons, or special deals and offers.
• Coupons, discounts, deals, and offers may not be applied to past purchases.

EXCLUSIONS

• Certain items are excluded from all coupons, discounts, deals, and offers.  These items will be listed on or near the checkout counter at Twin Cities Green.  Current exclusions include the following:

BAG SALES

Our "Bring Your Own (Reusable) Bag Sale" is a great opportunity for you to get more for less.  The above exclusions and policies apply. If you bring your own bag, we ask that it be about the size of an average grocery bag.  To be eligible for the discount, the item(s) that fit in your (or our) reusable bag must be mostly IN the bag. Please limit one bag per customer for the term of the sale.

RESTROOMS

There is not a public restroom available for customer use.  Please plan accordingly.

PETS

Twin Cities Green is a pet friendly store.  Please feel free to bring in your dog, cat, bird, or any other small to medium sized domesticated animal.  If an accident happens, we hope you'll be on clean up duty.

CHILDREN

We love children here at Twin Cities Green and realize that sometimes shopping with young ones can present challenges.  In the back of our store you'll find coloring pages, crayons, books, and things to keep the young ones entertained while you shop.
